Marianna Váradi was born in 1966 in Hajdúnánás. She took her final exam in Debrecen and graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, where she was taught by Zsolt Bende and Éva Andor.

She is a lyrical soprano with coloratura skill. During her studies at the Academy she participated at the courses of Hanna-Lore Kuse and Lore Fischer in Weimar. She was a visiting Fellow at the Summer Music Academy in Stuttgart. She was a Fellow of the Budapest Opera Friends Society for two years, right after she got her degree.

During this period she sang Melinda’s and Norina’s roles in the Opera House, with which she made her debut in 1991 in Szeged. She performed at the Bayreuth Summer Festival; she was the member of the "Deutsche Opera am Reihn Düsseldorf Duisburg" from 1996 to 1998. She was a guest artist at the New Theatre and the National Theatre in Budapest. From 1992 to 1996 and after 2001, she was the member of the National Theatre of Pécs.

She has been working as a teacher at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Music and Visual Arts from 2004.
