Bence Bogányi, is one of the few bassoonists who successfully perform both chamber music and solo repertoire.
He has studied at the Music Academies in Helsinki, Malmö, Detmold. He is following the post graduate studies in the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin. In 1997 he won the International Crusell Competition in Finland and in the same year he was chosen as solo bassoonist to the Finnish National Opera Orchestra. Since 2002 he has been the solo bassonist of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and the same time he plays in the RSB - Rundfunk Sinfonische Orchester Berlin.
In 2006 July, he won 1st prize at the Fernand Gillet-Hugo Fox Competition for Bassoon in Indinapolis, organized by the International Double Reed Society.
