Zoltán Bacsa was born on December 5, 1975, in Kecskemét, Hungary. Beginning in 1983, he studied under Lajos Kuna at the Kecskemét Music School. He earned his degree, majoring in jazz trumpet, from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he was a student of Kornél Fekete-Kovács. He has played in several bands, including the Little Jazz Band and the Chet Baker Memorial Band. He is the artistic director of the Kecskemét Jazz Orchestra. Since 2005, he has been a member of the Modern Art Orchestra.
