Falvai Sándor

Sándor Falvai graduated in 1972 with distinction from the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, and spent the following year in postgraduate training at Moscows famed Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He was invited to perform along side many world famous artists at the Gala concert in 1970, presented by UNICEF in Lausanne. In 1973, he won second prize in the Hungarian Radio piano competition. He toured the major cities of Germany in 1972 as a soloist with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, and made a successful debut in Berlin in 1973. Mr. Falvais United States debut was in New York City at the Carnegie Recital Hall in 1978. His playing is bold, splendidly articulated and firmly musical. Mr. Falvai diplayed the ability to keep the music at hand vital at all times (Allen Hughes, New York Times). Mr. Falvai has also performed in Tokyo, Paris, Tunis and Tessoloniki, and has made over twenty CDs. He is a member of the jury of several international piano competitions and he holds courses all around the world. Mr. Falvai is a professor of the piano department at the Liszt Academy in Budapest.
