Sugár Gergely

Gergely Sugár, hornplayer of the prestigious Vienna Symphony Orchestra, has been appointed as Managing Director of 'Symphonia-Recording Corporation of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra'. Gergely is also Co-Director of the recenly established label 'Wiener Symphoniker'. As University Professor of Horn at the Kunst University Graz, Institut Oberschützen, Gergely is tutoring both French- and Viennahorn players from Austria and abroad.
Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, Mr. Sugar studied French horn at the University of Music in Vienna, Austria with Friedrich Gabler and at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest with Adam Friedrich. After receiving his Master of Music degree he continued postgraduate studies at the University of Music in Graz, Austria with Prof. Hector McDonald emphasizing on historical performance practice.
His close collaboration with dutch Maestro Kees Bakels led to further conducting studies with David Gimčnez Carreras and the legendary Maestro Jorma Panula in St.Petersburg, Russia.
