Pianist Bálint Zsoldos was born in Budapest in 1977 and studied at the Franz Liszt Music Academy between 1996 and 2002 where his teachers were György Nádor, Attila Némethy and Márta Gulyás. He graduated from the piano and teaching faculties cum laude. He has attended masterclasses by such artists as Dmitri Baskirov, Lazar Berman, Péter Frankl, Karlheinz Kämmerling, John Perry and Sebők György. He has been a regular concert performer in Hungary and abroad since the age of 13 and has played at the Salzburg Festival, the Santander Summer Festival and the Budapest Spring Festival. He won first prize at the Usti Nad Labem International Piano Competition in 1989, and third prize at the Andor Földes competition in 2003. That same year, he won an Annie Fischer scholarship. Besides working with several Hungarian ensembles, he has appeared as a soloist with the Salzburg Solisten and the Hamburg Philharmonic. He has also made recordings for radio and television.
