Bentch Timothy

Timothy Bentch was born in the USA and completed his studies at the Philadelphia Curtis Institute. He has lived in Hungary for many years and is noted for his interpretation of older music, in particular the role of Evangelist in the passions of J. S. Bach. He has been highly praised for his Mozart tenor roles and in 2000 won the Dömötör prize for best opera singer with his performance of Tamino from the Magic Flute. He also enjoyed a great success with his interpretation of the lead role from Haydn's L'Infedelta at the Budapest Summer Opera Festival. Timothy Bentch regularly sings at the Hungarian State Opera House and with the National Philharmonic Orchestra and Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has been a guest performer in most European countries and also appears his native United States.
