Salvi Nóra
oboe
Nóra Salvi started her musical studies with piano, then continued with cello and composition, and only after that she started to study oboe at the age of twelve. Between 1991 and 1995, she studied oboe (János Kemény) and composition (István Fekete Győr) at the Béla Bartók Music College. From 2000 to 2002, she studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía Music Academy in Madrid, where she was taught by Hansjörg Schellenberger. From 2006, she continued her studies at the Doctoral School of the Liszt Academy of Music, where she graduated in 2012. Her DLA concert was held in the concert hall of the Old Music Academy.
She has participated in several master classes: Siena, Accademia Chigiana – Hansjörg Schellenberger (1996); Siena, Accademia Chigiana – Hansjörg Schellenberger (1997); Budapest, Liszt Academy of Music – Nicholas Daniel (1998); Madrid, ESMRS – Maurice Bourgue (2001); Durham, Musike – Maurice Bourgue (2002); Prague, Musike – Maurice Bourgue (2002).
She has won first prizes at several competitions (János Richter National Woodwind Competition in Győr in 1995, Lions Club International Music Prize in Zurich in 1997, Budapest National Oboe Competition in 1998, Sándor Végh Competition of the Budapest Festival Orchestra in 2015). In 1998 she was awarded the Artisjus Music Foundation Prize for her outstanding work in the presentation and promotion of contemporary Hungarian music, and in 2007 she received the Juventus Prize of the Hungarian State Opera House.
From 1998 to 2000 she was principal oboist of the MÁV Orchestra. She has given several recitals abroad (Madrid - 2001 and 2002, Santander - 2001). Since September 2002 she has been principal oboist of the Hungarian State Opera House. In 2006 and 2008 she gave solo recitals at the Marble Hall of the Hungarian Radio. Since 2008 she has been a permanent assistant of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Since 2014 she has been a member of the Quaartsiluni Chamber Ensemble. Since 2015 she has been oboe teacher at the Tibor Varga Music Institute of the Széchenyi University of Győr, and since 2018 she has been a university docent.
