Soprano Veronika Geszthy Szabó began her studies in 1994. From 1996 to 1999, she was a student of József Hormai and Katalin Szőke at the St Stephen the King Music College, before studying for five years with Éva Andor at the Music Academy. From 2002, she additionally attended and graduated from the opera faculty where her teacher was Balázs Kovalik. After graduating in 2004, she made her debut that same year as Iluska in Pongrác Kacsóh�s opera János the Brave, at the Erkel Theatre. Since September 2004, she has been a member of the Operetta Academy which is part of the Budapest Operetta Theatre. This year, she made her debut in the title role of Imre Kálmán�s "Countess Marica." In January 2005, she won a scholarship from the Friends of Opera Foundation. She has attended masterclasses by Júlia Hamari, Anna Reynolds, Jeanne Henny, Ralf Döring and Éva Marton.
