Born at Gyergyószárhegy, Romania, in 1963, Levente Szabó started to learn the violin at Marosvásárhely and Bucharest. He obtained his diploma at the Music Academy of Jasi. Having spent a few years in the Symphony Orchestra of the Philharmony of Marosvásárhely, he emigrated to Hungary and became concert master of the Symphony Orchestra of the Hungarian Army. He has been playing in the Budapest Festival Orchestra since 1997.
