Born in 1946 in Budapest, Éva Nádai began to learn the violin at the age of seven. Having completed her studies at the Musical Secondary School of Budapest, she was admitted to the Béla Bartók Teachers' Training College where her professors were Ferenc Halász, József Szász and József Sepsei. She obtained her diploma in 1967 and became immediately member of the orchestra of the Hungarian National Opera House, where she played for 25 years. Since 1992 she has been member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. She is married to Vilmos Csányi, Professor of Etology.
