Born in Budapest, Krisztina Haják started to play the violin at the age of six. At the Béla Bartók Musical Secondary School her teacher was Teréz Gosztonyi, later at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music of Budapest she was a student of Vilmos Tátrai. Between 1984 and 1993 she was member of the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra and played at the same time regularly in the Hungarian Chamber Orchestra. Since 1993 she has been member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra, where she plays both the violin and the viola.
