He was born in 1967 in Oroszlány, he learned first the violin and started to play the trombone only in 1979. Having graduated from the Musical Secondary School of Győr in 1984, he was admitted to the Győr Faculty of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music and became at the same time member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Győr. In 1985 he won 2nd, in 1987 1st prize at the National Youth Brass Competition, followed in 1988 by his victory at the János Richter National Competition. From 1988 he continued his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, his professor was László Ujfalusi. He obtained his diploma in 1991. From 1989 he has been playing in the orchestra of the Hungarian National Opera House. Since 1992 he has been member of the trombone section of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
