Ms. Liptai was born in Kecskemét and started to learn to play the violincello as a pupil of the local Zoltán Kodály Musical Elementary School. Prize-winner of several national competitions, she continued her studies first in the preperatory faculty of the Liszt Academy at Szeged, and from 1991, as a student of Csaba Onczay, at the prestigious Franz Liszt Music Academy of Budapest. She obtained her diploma in 1996. Following two years spent in the MÁV Symphony Orchestra as leader of the violincello section, Ms.Liptai has been since 1999 member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
