Csilla Gulyas was born in December 29, 1975, in Budapest. After finishing his elemantary and intermediate music studies she took a music final exam at Weiner Leó Music College, also completing Radnóti Miklós Secondary School at the same time. Meanwhile she attended courses of visiting foreign harpists, like Arisztid von Würtlzer, Ion Ivan Roncea, and Maria Graf. There being no harp competitions in Hungary, she also performed in youth concerts, festivals and the capitals's cultural events. She graduated at Liszt Ferenc Music Academy for the first time in 1999 at the Teacher's Training Institute, then in 2005 at the Univerity Department of the Music Academy.
Since her learning years she has performed in the Honved Symphonical Orchestra, in the Duna Symphonical Orchestra and in the Danubia Youth Orchestra. She had the chance to work under the guidance of Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro, Jurij Szimonov and Héjja Domonkos of course. Csilla Gulyas now performs in various chamber orchestras (she was among the founders of Trió Hárfisszimó - now: Trió Lyrico - wich was a great success at the 8th International Harp Festival in Gödöllő). Besides all these, she has been the harp teacher for more years at Zoltan Kodaly hungarian Choir School, wich has a unique teaching concept in Hungary.
Her first solo album "My Harp" has been published in December of 2006. This CD is a subjective selection in a very special mood. Not only are the well-known pearls of classical music included using the unmistakable sound of the harp, but also soundtracks, latin dances, jazz pieces, and the most exciting and romantic solos for harp: besides Bach and Albinoni, we can find the tango of Piazzolla, rumba, bolero, ragtime and blues, Amelie and The Pink Panther... Classical and lighter pieces are complemented with unusual instruments: doublebass, percussion and piano.
