Laki Krisztina

Krisztina Laki had studied with the outstanding Hungarian tenor, József Réti. She had sang her first major role as a singer of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf. She has appeared as a guest artist at opera houses including the Opera of Cologne, the Staatsoper, Vienna, the Scala, Milan, the Staatsoper, Hamburg and the Grand Opera, Paris. She has worked with such renowned directors as Jean-Pierre Ponelle, Giorgio Strehler and Andrey Lyubimov. She has achieved remarkable success with such international opera stars as Domingo, Raimondi or Kiri Te Kanawa and acclaimed conductors like Carlo Maria Giulini, Bernard Haitnik, Nicolaus Harnoncourt, Wolfgang Sawakisch, George Prčtre and Sir Neville Mariner. She has been celebrated as a concert and song performer as well. Laki has performed at the best-known musical centers of Europe (Salzburger Festspiele, Vienna, Amsterdam, London, Rome), and she is a welcome guest in Japan and the United States. She has sung on more than forty recordings. In 2001 Mrs. Laki was honored with Austrian Order for Science and Culture.
