Born in the region of Transylvania (Roumania), Imola Rajka learned to play the violin first in Tirgue Mures, later in Cluj. Having settled down in Hungary, she became a student of the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, where she obtained her diploma in 1993. She has been ever since section leader in the orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera House and a regular participant of productions of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
