Oszkár Morzsa was born on 23rd October, 1967 in Budapest. From 1980 till 1991 he studied with György Nádor (piano) and Ferenc Rados (chamber music) at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music Budapest, then in 1991-93 with Tamás Ungár at the Texas Christina University (Fort Worth, Texas). He won several awards on piano competitions: 1st Prize Nena Plant Widemann Piano Competition Shreveport (1992), 1st Prize TCU Concerto Competition Fort Worth Texas (1992), 1st Prize Hemphil-Wells Sorantin Competition San Angelo (1991), 1st Prize and Grand Prize in Piano Selection, Van Cliburn Scholarship TCU Fort Worths Texas (1991), 2nd Prize of Dohnányi Piano Competition Budapest (1990), 2nd Prize Senigallia International Piano Competition (1986), 3rd Prize of Usti nad Labem International Piano Competition (1982). He have been given solo evenings and participated on orchestral concerts all over Hungary and abroad. Since 1993 he has been a teacer at the Academy of Music Budapest and at the Universidad Javerina (Bogota, Colombia).
