With the help of scholarships, he graduated in composition at the legendary Berklee College of Music, in Boston. He has been performing with his jazz piano-trio since the year 2000. Released in 2002, their double live album titled Sun, Rise! contains his original pieces.
Földvári's jazz music is characterised by inventive forms, classical, Latin and rock influenced sounds, melodic and highly dynamic solos. Next to composing, he is currently recording a studio album featuring his songs and various instrumental works. During his years abroad, Gergely Földvári shared the stage many times with Amsterdam based jazz-guitarist and composer, David Golek.
