In 2003 she graduated from the solo voice department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music where she studied under Éva Andor, then in 2004 graduated from Balázs Kovalik’s opera department. At the 2000 József Simándy Singing Competition, Gabriella Fodor was places third. She has participated in masterclasses, among others, by Júlia Hamari, Anna Reynolds and Ralph Döring. Since 2001 she has been a member of the Ars Classica Chamber Opera. In 2003 at the Budapest Autumn Festival she sang the title role in Kamilló Lendvay: La Putain Respectueuse, for which she won the prize of the Artisjus contemporary music foundation. In 2004 in the Erkel Theatre she sang the role of Miss Jessel in the Hungarian première of Britten’s Turn of the Screw. In the same year she made her debut at the Miskolc International Opera Festival at Tatiana in Tchaikovsky’s Onegin and also participated in the National Philharmonics’ concert conducted by Zoltán Kocsis.
