Eszter Somogyi graduated from the solo singing faculty of the Franz Liszt College and since 1989, has been a soloist at the Hungarian State Opera. She is also a Bartók-Pásztory prize winner. Besides her work as an opera singer, she frequently performs in oratorio and lieder evenings. She has participated in many international courses where she furthered her studies with some superb teachers. She has been a guests in France, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Spain and the United States. Highlights from her repertoire are the title roles from Beethoven's Fidelio, Richard Strauss's Elektra and Puccini's Tosca, as well as Mozart and Verdi's Requiem, Rossini's Stabat Mater and Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder.
