Cellist and conductor Kálmán Záborszky studied at the Budapest and then, the Vienna Music Academies. He taught chamber music and cello at the Pécs Academy, later moving to the Budapest Bartók Conservatoire. He is currently the director of the St Stephen Music School. Since 1968, he has worked with the St Stephen Orchestra, formed by his father, of which he is now the conductor. Since 1981, he has been the conductor of the Oratorio Choir as well. He has held courses in Austria and Finland and helped initiate the Tihany Festival.
