Atala Schöck graduated as a mezzo-soprano from the Budapest Franz Liszt Music Academy in 2000. She won the József Simándy Singer Competition in 1998 in Szeged, and in 2000 she was third at the Singer Competition of the Hungarian Radio. Following her studies, she worked as a soloist at the Szeged National Theatre for two years, where she sang roles from Mozart (Cherubino), Gounod (Siebel) and Verdi (Meg Page, Maddalena). In the 2003/2004 season, she was invited to numerous foreign opera houses for guest performances (Dresden, Semperoper, Frankfurt Opera, Brussels Opera). She will also be present at the 2004 Bayreuth Festival, where she will make her debut in Parsifal. Atala Schöck is a familiar figure on the Hungarian oratorio stage, performing in works by J. S. Bach, Handel, Mozart, J. Haydn, Rossini and Vivaldi.

She has been awarded with Liszt Prize in 2017.
