Violist, he was born in Budapest in 1952, and graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 1977. He won a special prize at the 1975 International Budapest Viola Competition, and in 1979, won the first prize. He plays in several chamber music formations (period instrument group as well as those specialising in contemporary music). He is also member of Salzburg Virtuosi. Since 1984 he has taught at the Liszt Academy of Music and has published his own studies and viola transcriptions.
