Tenor Zoltán Megyesi as born in Szeged in 1975. He graduated with a diploma in singing from the Conservatoire of the Szeged Franz Liszt Music College in 1997. He is a specialist in Baroque and classical oratorios and operas and his repertoire includes the oratorios, masses, passions and cantatas of Monteverdi, Schütz, J. S. Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart and others. He frequently performs abroad and in recent years has worked in Austria, Spain, Italy, German and Great Britain. In 2003 he performed before the Spanish royal family. Besides Baroque and classical works, Zoltán Megyesi sings 20th century and contemporary works and participated in the Hungarian premiere of Arvo Pärt´s St. John Passion and the world premiere of Iván Madarász´s opera Knight Pazman. In 2003, he won 2nd prize at the Budapest Mária Gyurkovics Singing Competition.
