Tenor István Bundovics was born in Kárpátalja in 1967, and began his musical studies with composer István Márton in Ungvár. He graduated from the Debrecen Music Conservatoire in 1997 where his teachers were Adrien Szterszky and Éva Mohos Nagy. He attended masterclasses by Margit László, Mura Péter, Walter Moore and Emmi Varasdy. His more important roles to date have been Don Ottavio (Mozart: Don Giovanni) and Lenski (Tchaikovsky: Onegin) at the Debrecen Csokonai Theatre. He has also performed in oratorios, lieder recitals and operatta concerts, in both Hungary and abroad. He has collaborated in numerous sound and television recordings with the National Choir and the Bayreuth Festival Choir.
