He was born in 1967 at Törökszentmiklós, Hungary. He started to learn the double bass in his native town and continued his studies later in the Zoltán Kodály Secondary Music School of Debrecen. In 1985 he was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he obtained his diploma in 1990. Still a student of the Academy, he became member of the Symphony Orchestra of the Hungarian Radio where he spent 11 years, playing for two years also in Claudio Abbado's Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. He has been since 1998 member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
