Born into a family of music lovers in Budapest in 1969, the violist Veronika Botos was enrolled in a music school at an early age, where she began her studies of the violin and piano. She attended the Béla Bartók Music Secondary School in Budapest between 1983 and 1987 and studied under Sándor Nagy and Ferenc Kertész. Upon graduation she was admitted to the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, where László Bársony was her professor. She also studied chamber music under János Revick, Károly Botvay and András Mihály. Being a student of the Music Academy, Ms. Botos won second prize at the First National Viola Competition in Debrecen in 1988. In 1992 she received first prize at the Pál Lukács Memorial Competition. Ms. Botos has played with the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, as well as chamber orchestras, like the Hungarian Virtuoso Chamber Orchestra, Concentus Hungaricus and Camerata Trannsylvanica. Her repertoire includes the works of Bach, Händel, Telemann, Biber, J.Chr. Bach, Stamitz, Hoffmeister, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Weber, Paganini, Reinecke, Joachim, Bruch, Reger, Rachmaninov, Wieniawski, Hindemith, Walton, Farkas, Britten, Gyula Dávid, Rivier, Furer, Gyula Bánkövi.
