Czeglédi Zsolt

Born in 1967 in Sárvár (Western Hungary), Zsolt Czeglédi started to play the trompet in his native town. Having pursued his secondary school studies in the musical schools of Győr and Budapest, in 1985 he was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where his professor was Frigyes Varasdy. With the Academy Brass Quintet formed of members of his school, he won first prize at the International Brass Competition of Barcs. He was still student of the Liszt Academy when he became member of the Orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera House. Mr.Czeglédi is also a committed chamber musician, performing regularly both in Hungary and abroad. Since 1997 he has been member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. In March 2024, he was awarded the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit (civil division).
