Ágnes Beke was born in Budapest on 4 March 1954. She started her violin studies at the age of 8 and since then chamber music has been the most attractive musical activity for her. After finishing her studies at Béla Bartók Conservatory she received her diploma at Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in the class of Mrs. Miklós Takács and János Pallagi. She played in the orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera House from 1980 and she has been a member of Budapest Strings since 1983.
