Szűts Péter

Péter Szűts was born in Budapest in 1965. He obtained his diploma with distinction in 1988 in violin at the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy. His teachers were Ferenc Halász, Ferenc Rados and György Kurtág. Between 1989 and 1995 he played with the Éder Quartet, and then with the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Since 1983 he has been intensely concerned with the problems of performing the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Together with Miklós Spányi, he is founder, artistic director and leader of the Concerto Armonico chamber orchestra. He has also performs as soloist with the orchestra. He has played cncertos by Bach, Handel, Albioni, Vivaldi and Haydn at many concerts and prestigious early music festivals in Hungary and abroad.
