Winner of two national violincello competitions at the age of 11 and 16, Rita Sovány pursued her studies later at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, with Miklós Perényi. Having obtained her diploma, she became member of the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Ms.Sovány is also founding member of the BFO Cello Ensemble formed by musicians of the BFO's violincello section.
