Bacsó Kristóf Triad

Orchestra, choir, ensemble

The Kristóf Bacsó Triad was formed in late 2012 as a collaboration among three leading members of the young generation of Hungarian jazz musicians: Kristóf Bacsó (saxophone), Árpád Tzumó (keyboards), and Márton Juhász (drums). Their debut album, titled Pannon Blue, was released in 2016; during its production, Benin-born guitarist Lionel Loueke joined the group as the fourth member. The album won the prestigious “Album of the Year” award from Gramofon magazine.

They have performed at numerous festivals both in Hungary and abroad. On their 2022 album Imaginary Faces, Áron Tálas had replaced Árpád Tzumó in the band. Bassist Daniele Camarda contributes to the album. In 2025, the Kristóf Bacsó Triad’s album Let It Go was released - also on BMC Records.

The band’s repertoire includes original compositions, but alongside the composed sections, collective improvisations and the exploration of unusual timbres and harmonies play an important role.
