Mezítlábas Zenészek (Barefoot Musicians)
Orchestra, choir, ensemble
Barefoot Musicians is an artistic group founded by Katalin Koltai (guitarist) and Éva Bodrogi (singer) in 2006.
The Barefoot Musicians, an ensemble composed of internationally recognized young musicians, is founded on the notion that one's approach to music should always endeavor to be fresh and unencumbered – hence, barefoot.
Through their years of formal training they have absorbed the traditions and foundational knowledge of their craft; still, their chief aim is to approach the music in the spirit of play, experiment and discovery, and to transmit this enthusiasm to the audience.
The ensemble strives to bring the works of contemporary composers to the stage, as well as showing older works in a new light by playing them in combination with related modern pieces. The ensemble members all have amassed performance experience well beyond their years, and have premiered numerous new works, including several written particularly for their performance.
