Smárton Trió
Orchestra, choir, ensemble
Smárton Trio is a young and dynamic hungarian band led by the guitarist-composer Márton Sütő. The two other members are Zoltán Kovács on the double bass and Hunor G. Szabó on the drums. All three got their degree at the Budapest Academy of Music in 2004. The music is an exciting combination of jazzy, blues, rock, pop and folk influences.
The band was formed in the winter of 2003 and started performing from next spring. Since then, they are recurring guests of hungarian festivals and Budapest clubs. The band was awarded a first prize by prominent hungarian musicians at a the Budapest Jazz Contest in November 2003.
The first LP of the trio (2006, I don't know yet) is available now.
The members are playing in other formations at the hungarian music scene as well, such as Kiss Erzsi Music, Mihály Borbély's Quartet B, Szilvia Bognár and Ági Szalóki's band.
