Among the Zoltán Kodály Primary School's choirs, Cantemus Children's Choir contains the most members and has won the most prizes. They have participated in contests and given concerts in several countries around the world: Venezuela, Australia, Canada, Japan, the United States, Korea and in several countries of Europe. Since 1975 the choir has had the privilege of performing a selection of the most beautiful pieces of music history at its concerts.
Their voice is preserved by ten CD-s, radio- and TV recordings. More than 10 CDs were published together with the Pro Musica Girl's Choir, which gives a whole view about the Hungarian and European choral music.
Their repertoire extends from Gregorian chants to contemporary music containing the most beautiful pieces of music history. Besides the works of Bartók and Kodály in their repertoire you can find the greatest pieces of the Renaissance and romanticism, as well as the works of contemporary Hungarian composers. The choir has also had the privilege to premier many new pieces composed especially for Cantemus.
As an acknowledgement of their outstanding artistic achievements, the choir was awarded the prize of the "Foundation for Hungarian Arts" in 1989 and the "Bartók Béla-Pásztory Ditta Prize" in 1993.
