Balla Quartet
Orchestra, choir, ensemble
Formed
1996
Endre Balla formed his own trio with bassist Sándor Szász and drummer László Bóna in 1996. In 1997 the trio was extended to a quartet when they invited István Elek saxophone player, and besides penning original compositions, they reworked several pop hits of the 1960s with a unique jazz standard-like approach with singer Bea Tisza. Depending on the line up László Studniczky plays his bass either as a solo or as an accompanying instrument.
