The Solti Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1998 from young musicians who graduated from the Franz Liszt Music Academy. The ensemble aims to preserve the memory of the legendary Hungarian conductor György Solti who died on September 5th 1997. Solti himself studied at the Music Academy with teachers such as Arnold Székely, Albert Siklós and Leó Weiner. In recent years, the Solti Chamber Orchestra has given many successful concerts with conductors of the calibre of Tamás Vásáry and Yuri Simonov. Soloists have included Miklós Perényi and Ilona Tokody. The Orchestra regularly invites young soloists to perform with them.
