The Eger Symphony Orchestra is a major player in Eger’s colourful cultural life. The ensemble performs at the Eger wine festival, participates in opera performances in the Lyceum courtyard (Rossini: Turk in Italy), and also performs in the Basilica with the Debrecen Kodály Chous (Mozart: Requiem). The orchestra regularly collaborates in musical productions by the Géza Gárdonyi Theatre. The Eger Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Máté Szabó Sípos, who is also its artistic director.
