The Belvedere Trio Wien was founded in 1999. The three young musicians have played first together at the Chamber Music Festival at the Royal Palace in Gödöllő in Hungary. Elmar Landerer and Robert Nagy performed an extensive chamber music repertoire as member of the Wiener Philharmonia Trio. They recorded the complete string trios by Beethoven and Schubert as well as works by Mozart and Brahms. In June 2000 the Belvedere Trio Wien had its international debut at the Wiener Musikverein at the Wiener Festwochen.
