Trio Yengibarjan

Orchestra, choir, ensemble

Formed
1999

The trio was formed in 1999 with the aspiration to create a fusion of the Argentinean tango, the New Tango of Astor Piazzolla, and various types of folk music. After several changes of the beginning, the lineup consisting of David Yengibarjan - accordion, József Barcza Horváth - double bass, Gábor Juhász - guitar has recorded its first CD Tango Passion (BMC CD 051), released in June 2001. On it they play, besides own compositions, pieces from Astor Piazzolla or even a transcription of an Armenian folk song.
Trio Yengibarjan successfully introduced the material of Tango Passion opening the BMC Jazz Evening for Terje Rypdal and Palle Mikkelborg on June 22th, 2001 in Budapest.
From 2002 in the new lineup of the trio János Egri plays the bass and József Botos the guitar.
