Off Course
Orchestra, choir, ensemble
The Off Course group was established around 1989. First they played jazz standards, and they have started formulating their own style in 1992, under the influence of the then fashionable "New Age" trend. They are still refining the accessory of their musical expressivity, using the elements of European classical music, the so-called "ECM" style and contemporary music as well.
The core of the band are Gábor Juhász (guitar), Róbert Szakcsi Lakatos (piano), and József Barcza Horváth (double-bass). A number of excellent musicians have appeared in the group during the 10 years of their existence: Elemér Balázs, Attila 'Csibe' Balogh, Gábor Szendi, László Zsákai 'Piros', András Mohai etc. The first album of the band, Street of Secrets was published in 1999. Their second album entitled "Tales from the Lighthouse" was published during the spring of 2002 in co-operation with the world-famous jazz trumpeter, Erik Truffaz.
