The piece was commissioned by the 5th Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition. It can be regarded as an acoustic reflection to Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn’s well-known painting entitled Jeremiah Lamenting the Destruction of Jerusalem (1630).
