Remarks, other info
"The title of the cycle, Crossing, invites the listener to an imagined journey, whose end is foreign and far away. During the journey, the wayfarer leaves their earlier, familiar life behind themselves, and their character completely dissolves into the unknown. The starting point is Pérotin´s solo vocal melody, Beata Viscera, from the 13th century, which loses its original characteristics entirely throughout the four movements of the work, and gradually transforms by virtue of minimalist tools, and becomes part of a new, 21st-century musical world."
