Áron TöröK-Gyurkó is a composer and assistant professor at the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music and at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca.
He studied music composition at the Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, under the guidance of professors Péter Szegő, Adrian Pop, and Cornel Țăranu, and at the “Franz Liszt” Academy of Music in Budapest in the class of composer László Tihanyi. In parallel, he took part in masterclasses held by composers such as Tristan Murail, Péter Eötvös, Allain Gaussin, Matthias Pintscher, Yann Robin, Hèctor Parra and others.
He obtained a PhD in music with a dissertation entitled "The Micromorphology of Musical Discourse", a research work that explores the microstructural principles behind the inner construction of composite sonorities.
His works were performed at significant contemporary music events, as: The International Week of New Music (Bucharest), International George Enescu Festival (Bucharest), International Meridian Festival (Bucharest), International Cluj Modern Festival (Cluj-Napoca), Romanian Music Festival (Iași), International Summer Academy (Wien-Mürzzuschlag-Reichenau), Contemporary Music Dialog (Uzhhorod, Ukraine), Festival des Écoles d'Art Américaines de Fontainebleau (Fontainebleau, France).
