Mária Antal, a composer living in Great Britain, earned her degree from the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music and High School, and later from the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. She subsequently settled in England. She earned a degree in film scoring from the London College of Music, part of the University of West London. In 2020, her piece KRON-ALIAS - a violin concerto in three movements - was awarded a prize in the symphonic orchestra category at the Müpa Budapest's Music Composition Competition. In 2004, she won the London College of Music Silver Medal. She has worked as a faculty member at the University of West London, and her works have been performed by renowned ensembles such as the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. She has composed music for several films and projects, including Suicide Club (2017), Two Men in a Car (2008), War & Peace (2016), and Sunflower (2021). She currently works as a freelance composer.
