John (János) Fodi (22 March 1944, Nagytevel, Hungary - 2 November 2009, Toronto, Canada) He emigrated to Canada and studied with John Beckwith and John Weinzweig in Hamilton and Toronto, and with István Anhalt at McGill University. He was a founder and director of the 'Contemporary Music Group' at the University of Toronto, 1967-1970. At McGill he was co-founder of the 'New Music Society.' His compositions include works for orchestra, chamber ensemble, keyboard, voice, and tape.
