András Emszt was born in 1989 and is a Zoltán Kodály Scholarship recipient composer. He studied at the Academy of Music in the class of János Vajda. He is currently a teacher of composition at the Weiner Leó Music High School. His works have been performed in concerts and festivals at home and abroad. He is also active as a pianist and performer.

In the early years of his studies at the Academy of Music, he was influenced by the music of Shostakovich and Bartók, and increasingly incorporated minimalist elements into his works. He has been greatly influenced by the music of John Adams and Philip Glass, and can also draw inspiration from the younger generation, such as Judd Greenstein and Nico Muhly. His repertoire ranges from solo works, choral and chamber works to large orchestral pieces.
