Aranka Fodor was a famous singer in the first decades of the last century, made her début at the Oprea House in 1906 as Amneris in Verdi's Aida. Her best parts were Carmen, Dalila, Azucena, Ulrica, Erda, Fricka and Herdias in Salome. She scored her greatest success as Klytaimnestra in Richard Strauss's Elektra, at the first Budapest performance of the opera in 1910. She also appeared in London.
