Homoki Gábor

Gábor Homoki was born in 1989 in Budapest, Hungary.
He started his violin studies with Mrs. Sándor Kemény in Vác. In 2002 he entered the prelimnary class of the Béla Bartók Music College and studied with Professor László Dénes. Since 2008 Gábor Homoki is the student of the Franz Liszt Music Academy in the class of professors Barnabás Kelemen and Katalin Kokas.
In 2000 together with Miuyi Kaneko (piano) and Bence László (cello) Gábor Homoki won the Grand Prize of the National Chamber Music Festival in Székesféhervár in Hungary. In 2001 after winning the Special Prize of the International Violin Competition of Alsukubin in the Slovak Republik he was also awarded with Special Price at the National János Koncz Violin Competition in Hungary.
In 2003 as the youngest amongst the competitors Gábor Homoki won the Special Prize of the Alíz Bárdos Violin Competition in Hungary. In 2005 and 2007 he won the first prizes at the Ferenc Halász Violin Competition and at the Alíz Bárdos Violin Competition in Hungary.
In 2010 he collaborated with noted musicians such as Mikhail Ovrutsky, Márta Ábrahám, Jan-Erik Gustafsson, Andrea Vigh, Knut Erik Sundquist, Ditta Rohmann, István Várdai at festivals like the International Chamber Music Festival in Kaposvár or the Hungarian Radios Marble Hall Series.
As a chamber musician Gábor Homoki performs with the Kelemen Quartet since 2008. They attend private lessons of notable artists such as Ferenc Rados, Zoltán Kocsis, András Schiff, Gábor Takács-Nagy or Günter Pichler.
